2018 Municipal Election


The next Municipal Election will be held October 22, 2018 and the process for the 2018 Election will exclusively utilize the alternative voting method known as "Voting by Telephone/Internet". See By-law 2017-15. The voting period, being the advance vote and including voting day, will be for a term of 8 (eight) full days commencing Monday, October 15, 2018 at 8:00 am (Eastern Standard Time) and the Voting period will terminate on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 8:00 pm (EST). The results of the election will be presented in the Sydenham Library Community Room, 4412 Wheatley Street, Sydenham, as soon as possible after 8:00 pm on October 22, 2018. 

So You Want to Run for Council?

Attend the candidate information workshop on April 30, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Soldiers Memorial Hall, 1107 Garrett St, Sharbot Lake. This is a free event, no registration required and is a joint initiative sponsored by the Townships of Frontenac Islands, Central Frontenac, North Frontenac and South Frontenac. This workshop will give you an understanding of Council's roles and responsibilities. It will also explain how duties and responsibilities of public office will impact your life. You may also sign up for the on-line course offered by A.M.O. (Association of Municipalities of Ontario), this is an on-line work at your own pace course.Cost is $75.00. More details here
