For Immediate Release

With key public health and health system indicators continuing to improve, the Ontario government is cautiously and gradually easing public health measures as of February 17, 2022, at 12:01 a.m.

As a result of this announcement, the Township will be implementing the following measures to ensure staff and residents remain safe when accessing or attending a South Frontenac rental facility.

Facility Renter Requirements

When renting a South Frontenac Township facility, it is the renter’s responsibility to adhere to the current public health measures in place. These individuals or organizations must:

  • Ensure every patron completes the active screening questionnaire prior to entry,
  • Confirm proof of vaccination via the enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code and identification for those 12+ (note: you must have a device to scan the QR code using the Verify Ontario app. The app is free to download and does not require WIFI or data to use). Presenting ID and your QR code to be scanned by the Verify Ontario app is the only acceptable confirmation for proof of vaccination.
  • Ensure all additional measures are followed, including hand sanitizing, mask requirements, etc.

Renters should note that capacity limits, seating limits, contact tracing/attendance sheets, and maintaining a physical distance of two meters is no longer required (except for between designated performers and spectators).

The Township will ensure that rented facilities are equipped with hand sanitizer at the entrance, are properly cleaned and sanitized after each rental, and that all current rules and requirements are communicated to the renter prior the booking date.

Patron Requirements

When attending an event or meeting at a South Frontenac Township facility, all patrons must:

  • Complete the active screening questionnaire and confirm proof of vaccination via the enhanced vaccine certificate with official QR code and government issued identification with the event host prior to entry,
  • Wear a mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin unless actively eating or drinking and hand sanitize upon entry and exit of the facility,
  • Refrain from singing or dancing (except for designated singers/performers),
  • Maintain a distance of two (2) meters or separation by an impermeable barrier from designated singers/ performers.

Should public health indicators continue to improve, it is anticipated that the province will take additional steps to ease public health measures again on March 1, 2022.
