For Immediate Release

In response to recent trends that show an alarming increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, the Ontario government is temporarily moving the province into a modified version of Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen. These measures are intended to slow transmission of the virus and prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed as the province continues to accelerate its booster dose rollout. As part of the province’s response to the Omicron variant, students will also pivot to remote learning as of January 5, 2022.

As a result of these announcements, all indoor rental facilities and administrative offices in Sydenham at 4432 George Street, and at 2490 Keeley Rd., will remain closed until further notice.

While offices will be closed to foot traffic, the Township will remain open for business and almost all municipal services will continue to be delivered. Public communications via telephone, email, virtual meetings and drop box will remain in place during regular business hours.

In situations where there is no suitable alternative to an in-person meeting or document drop-off, staff will work with residents to setup appointments in order to deliver services.
