The Township is pleased to announce the hiring of Troy Dunlop as its new Manager of Technical Services and Infrastructure.

With over 20 years of municipal experience in public works and capital project management, Troy brings a variety of skills with him, including knowledge of drinking water systems, wastewater, drainage, road maintenance, winter control activities, and asset management. In addition to his extensive public works experience, he has also held key leadership positions throughout his career, serving as the Director of Roads and Public Works for the Town of Mississippi Mills, and most recently, as the Director of Public Works with the Town of Smiths Falls.

Mr. Dunlop holds a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from St. Lawrence College, as well as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation with the Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists.

Troy is extremely proud of his team’s accomplishments over the last five years at the Town of Smiths Falls, “Although it will be tough to leave my current colleagues, I’m excited to play an important role in the exciting projects and initiatives being undertaken in South Frontenac in the coming months and years,” said Troy Dunlop. “There seem to be a lot of changes taking place in South Frontenac in response to increasing growth pressures, and I look forward to helping facilitate that growth in ways that are compatible with the community and the environment.”

As part of the Township’s strategic plan, the Public Services Department is undergoing changes in its service delivery including a greater emphasis on engineering services and asset management. In addition to his contributions in asset management, Troy will play a key role in overseeing the pre-design, design tendering and project management of Township Infrastructure needs, as well as serving as an important resource to the Development Services Department, providing feedback on local development and growth related projects.

In addition to this new role, the Township will be looking to fill two additional positions in the Public Services Department in the near future, including the vacant Director of Public Services role.

“It’s always exciting to bring new, experienced staff on board, and I know that Troy will make a great addition to the team. His skillsets and experience makes him ideal to take on this new position and lead South Frontenac forward, ensuring we continue to grow, adapt, and meet the needs of this community,” explained Mayor Ron Vandewal.
