South Frontenac Township is inviting lake associations and other not-for-profit community groups looking to make positive changes in the health of lakes to apply for a Lake Ecosystem Grant. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 4, 2023.
The Lake Ecosystem Grant Program is designed to support projects focused on encouraging the preservation, restoration, monitoring and analysis of lake ecosystems within South Frontenac.
The program funds projects up to $10,000 that reduce or limit diffuse, point-source runoff caused by human disturbance of the land, create or increase shoreline buffer zones, protect or enhance wildlife habitat, or help with lake environment monitoring and data collection.
