Data Entry Clerk – Temporary Part-time (up to 6 months)

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a member of the Corporate Services Department, the Data Entry Clerk is responsible for entering data and basic management of electronic files. The Data Entry Clerk is expected to assist with transferring information from one source into another. This role may also carry out additional tasks such as filing, creating digital records, and providing other clerical and operational support within the department.

Qualifications:

As the ideal candidate, you possess a minimum 1 to 2-year post-secondary in a business-related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 1 to 3 years experience in a clerical role. You have a thorough command of office procedures, are proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with excellent keyboard proficiency along with the capacity to quickly learn new computer software.

This is a temporary, part-time position (up to 6 months) based on a 40-hour work with benefits in accordance with Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 4336. Swim Instructor Summer Student Position

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adapts teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of participants so participants can meet the course objectives.
  • Plans and teaches group or individual swimming lessons/activities.
  • Provides supervision, ensuring safety of participants attending the program.
  • Communicates regularly with participants and parents to ensure awareness of progress.
  • Completes records and reports in a timely manner and returns them to Site Coordinator.   
  • Provides facility maintenance and beach clean-up.
  • Provide effective supervision and lifeguarding for all waterfront activities.
  • Understand and practice waterfront safety and emergency procedures.
  • Provides and assists with programming for day camp.
  • Participate fully in the daily schedule and in camp-wide special events.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age and have attended school in 2024.
  • Must have current certification in the following:
    • Water Safety Instructor Certification
    • National Lifeguard Certification
    • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • Must be familiar with the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Program and know how to use the course material effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of swimming and water safety skills and instruction.
  • Experience working with children in an activity or program setting.
  • Leadership, public relations, communication, and decision-making skills. 
  • Criminal Record check is required; Vulnerable Sector Check required for individuals 18 years of age or older

This is a seasonal non-union position based on a 40-hour work week based outdoors. Volunteer (Paid on-call) Firefighters

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for fully trained firefighters who have and can demonstrate the values of trust, honesty, integrity, compassion, empathy, and teamwork to join our dedicated volunteer paid on-call team.

Our firefighters provide services for over 20,000 residents and many visitors to South Frontenac. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the provision of all fire suppression activities that are necessary to save life and property by rapidly and efficiently performing a variety of duties. These include combatting, extinguishing and/or preventing fires, emergency medical response and aid, rescue/extrication operations, water/ice rescue, fire safety, and public education duties.

Compensation is provided for attending emergencies, training sessions, station duties and public education. See a list of all the fire stations in South Frontenac here

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 education.
  • Certification to NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I & II, including NFPA 1072 Hazmat Awareness & Operations.
  • Additional qualification to be considered an asset: Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card.
  • Level CPR BLS/HCP Certification and First Aid / CPR Certification (Red Cross).
  • A valid Class D driver’s license with Z endorsement.
  • Thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of all apparatus, equipment, and methods used in combating, extinguishing and preventing fires and in rescue work.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and guidelines governing the Fire Department and of standing orders of the Department.
  • Working knowledge of the operation, size, and location of water mains, dry hydrants, and available water sources, as applicable to firefighting activities.
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening satisfactory to the Employer. 
  • Applicants who live in South Frontenac or are within (10) kms of South Frontenac fire stations will be given consideration.
