Committee of Adjustment Recruitment

The Township of South Frontenac is seeking one (1) public member to serve on the Committee of Adjustment. 

The Committee meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. The appointment will serve for the remainder of the term of Council, ending in Fall of 2026. 

The Committee of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body legislated by the Planning Act. The Committee holds public hearings and makes decisions on applications for: 

  • Minor variances
  • Enlargements or extensions of legal non-conforming uses
  • Consents (severances) 

Public appointees must meet the following criteria to serve on a Committee:  

  • Be at least 18 years or older;
  • A resident or business owner in the Township
  • Maintain residence or the business in the Township for the duration of their term

    Must be one of the following:
  • Canadian Citizen, or
  • Permanent Resident, a person who has been given permanent resident status by immigrating to Canada but is not a Canadian Citizen and has resided in the Township of South Frontenac for at least one year.
