Fish Creek Bridge Update - January 23, 2026
The Fish Creek Bridge construction is near complete, and the road is scheduled to be re-opened with a temporary gravel surface at the end of the day at dusk on Friday, January 30. The causeway and the bridge deck will be paved in late spring when asphalt plants re-open. Please see updates on recently completed work along with and works scheduled for next week:
Work completed – Weeks of January 12 and January 19
- Removal of the temporary water bypass on the north end of the structure
- Removal of sheet piling systems and reopening the creek in its original path of flow
- Installation of subdrains and backfilling to grade between the wing walls
- Installation of new steel beam guiderail systems on the bridge deck
- Begin installation of steel beam guiderail on the approaches (25% complete)
- Begin placement of granulars on roadway approaches
Works forecasted – Week of January 26
- Complete placement of granular surface on bridge approaches
- Complete installation of steel beam guiderail systems on the approaches (remaining 75%)
- Open roadway to two-way traffic at end of workday on Friday, January 30
Road closure updates, where necessary, continue to be issued through the Municipal 511 system to all emergency service and school transportation providers.
