Newly Renovated Township Town Hall Will Reopen to the Public

September 18, 2025 – After 14 months of construction, South Frontenac Township’s Town Hall in Sydenham will reopen to the public this fall. Each department will move into their new space on separate days to ensure a smooth transition and to reduce traffic within the village.

Departmental Move-in Dates:

• Friday, September 26, 2025: Treasury/Reception will be open in Town Hall to accept all tax payments and answer community questions. The department will move from the Community Room at the Library on Thursday, September 25, but will remain open to the public. The final tax instalment is due September 30.

• Monday, September 29, 2025: The Clerks Department, Human Resources, and Communications will move into Town Hall. The Storrington Office will remain open to the public on this day. 

• Tuesday, September 30, 2025: All office locations will be closed for Truth & Reconciliation Day. 

• Thursday, October 2, 2025: The Storrington Office will be closed to the public while Building and Planning move to Town Hall. Matters related to Building and Planning will also not be available in Town Hall on this day.
• Friday, October 3, 2025: Building and Planning will be open to the public in Town Hall. All departments will now be available for the public. 

As part of the renovations, a lift and an accessible public bathroom have been added to the main floor near the reception area. Patrons visiting Building and Planning can enter at the rear entrance facing the library, or the main entrance to use the lift. A new employee parking lot has also been added to the back of the building to allow for more parking for Town Hall and library patrons. 

The Township will be pleased to host a Grand Opening of the Town Hall at a later date. Information will be available on our website.
