Public Service Announcement: Military personnel training in South Frontenac
A message from National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces. Students and instructors from the Peace Support Training Centre in Kingston will be conducting an exercise in the Township of South Frontenac between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on December 3, 2025.
Approximately 20 Canadian students and instructors, in uniform, will be conducting area assessments of local communities to train in the conduct of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC). An area assessment is a survey that gains knowledge about the community, its infrastructure, and its capabilities. For training realism, the students will be surveying areas within South Frontenac.
Students will go out into the area, take pictures, talk with local residents, and try to understand the dynamics of the Township. Subsequently, the students will brief their findings and recommendation to the course Directing Staff at Peace Support Training Centre. This training will have minimal impact on the community. No weapons will be present.
CIMIC is a function that supports a military mission by establishing and maintaining coordination and cooperation between the military forces and civil authorities.
