    Notice of Public Meeting: Proposed Closure and Sale of an Unopened Road Allowance

    The Council of the Township of South Frontenac will host a public meeting on January 13, 2026, at 7:00 pm regarding an application from 1121A Beach Lane (benefitting lands), requesting to close and transfer a portion of unopened road allowance, legally described as Road Allowance between Lot 30 and lot 31, Concession 10, Storrington, North of Cranberry Lake.

    Purpose and Effect of the Applications:

    Application PL-BDJ-2025-0114 is proposing to create 1 new residential lot that is approximately 9 acres in area with approximately 115 metres of frontage on Alton Road West.
    Application PL-BDJ-2025-0115 is for a lot addition of approximately 60 acres with approximately 27 metres of frontage on Alton Road West to be added to the vacant farm property to the west, as identified on attached map, increasing the size of the property to approximately 123 acres. 
    The retained lands along Harrowsmith Road would be 8 acres and contain the house and accessory structures. The retained lands would remain with 65.9 metres of frontage. Application PL-ZNA-2025-0116 is for a minor variance for the lot to be retained to have less than 76 metres of frontage.

    This zoning amendment application seeks to permit residential development within 300
    metres of an existing quarry. The proposal is related to a consent application (PL-BDJ-2025-
    0102) for a rural residential lot. The zone on the proposed lot would change from Rural (RU)
    to Rural – Special Exception (RU-XX) to permit the construction of a dwelling and accessory
    uses, notwithstanding the prohibitions of the Zoning By-law (Section 5.34.1).

The retained parcel would be approximately 3.6 acres in size with approximately 200m of frontage along Desert Lake Road
