  • South Frontenac Lifts Level One Fire Ban; Encourages Caution

    Effective 9:00 am on October 31, 2025, South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Del Blakney, has lifted the Level One Fire Ban that has been in place since August 29.

    The proposal is to sever a new lot from the property. The severed parcel would be approximately 5.7 acres in area with approximately 170 metres of frontage on Desert Lake Road. The retained parcel would be approximately 3.6 acres in size with approximately 200m of frontage along Desert Lake Road

    This application seeks permission to enlarge two legal non-conforming cottages. The applicant proposes to replace the two existing cottages (38sqm & 54sqm) and 58sqm of attached decking with one cottage in a similar footprint. The proposed two-storey cottage would have a building height of 10m, a building footprint of 156.2sqm, and would be setback 14m from the highwater mark of Dog Lake and 4m from the top of bank.

    Purpose & Effect of the Application:

    A minor variance is being requested to allow 17sqm (182sqft) deck, attached to the side of the dwelling, to be setback 23m from the highwater mark of a watercourse/unevaluated wetland. The deck was constructed without the necessary approvals.

    Purpose and Effect of the Applications
    Applications PL-BDJ-2025-0106 and PL-BDJ-2025-0107 are for the creation of two vacant residential lots. Both lots would be 2.5 acres in size with 113.8 metres frontage on Burega Lane. The retained lands would be 13 acres with frontage on Winding Creek Lane.  Applications PL-BDJ-2025-0108 and PL-BDJ-2025-0109 are for rights-of-way so the new lots could be accessed over Burega Lane.  Minor variance application PL-ZNA-2025-0110 is requesting permission for the new residential lots to be at least 300 metres from the licensed quarry on Sydenham Road.

    The severance application seeks to permit a lot addition. The proposed 3.82Ac lot addition would increase the area of the benefitting lands (2008 Ormsbee Road) to 5.02Ac. The unaddressed retained parcel (102906006004900) would have 93.62Ac of remaining area, with frontage on Wellington Street, Milburn Road and Ormsbee Road.

    This application is for a 2 acre lot addition to be conveyed from the property on Burnt Hills Road (Concession 10, Part Lot 16 on Registered Plan 13R12491;PART 1, Identified on the attached map) to 2054 Burnt Hills Road. If approved, 2054 Burnt Hills Road is proposed to increase in size from 2 acres to be 4 acres and the retained Burnt Hills Road property will be approximately 4.35 acres in remaining area.

  • Road 38 Construction Update

    G. Williams Paving is wrapping up work on the initial phase of the Road 38 Reconstruction project with the completion of the final lift of paving of the 4 km stretch of roadway between Yarker Road and Kingston Road. 

  • South Frontenac Township Opens Survey for 2026 Budget

    South Frontenac Township has started to prepare their 2026 budget and is asking residents to take a short survey to share their input. Survey closes November 21, 2025.
