    The Township will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

    Purpose and Effect of the Applications
    The owner is proposing to extend Bittersweet Drive to Petworth Road, and to develop a 34 lot residential subdivision. The subdivision would also have two park blocks and one stormwater management block.
    The proposed official plan amendment would change the designation on the subject lands from Prime Agricultural Area and Environmental Protection to Settlement Area. This would expand the Hartington Settlement Area boundary to include the site.
    The subject lands are zoned RU-46. The proposed zoning by-law amendment would place the proposed residential lots in a Residential (R) zone that would allow a minimum 45 metre frontage. The amendment would also place the proposed park and stormwater management blocks in a Public Open Space (OS) zone.

    The application for draft plan of subdivision would enable the lot and block creation, and the
    road extension. This application has been submitted to, and will be processed by, the County of
    Frontenac, as they are the approval authority for plans of subdivision.

The retained parcel would be approximately 172 acres in area with approximately 483 metres of frontage on Leland Road. A Minor variance is being requested to allow the severed lot to have less than 76 metres of road frontage.

  • Fish Creek Bridge Update - January 23, 2026

    The Fish Creek Bridge construction is near complete, and the road is scheduled to be re-opened with a temporary gravel surface at the end of the day at dusk on Friday, January 30. The causeway and the bridge deck will be paved in late spring when asphalt plants re-open.

  • 2026 Budget Deemed Adopted

    On January 22, 2026, members of Council and Township staff met to present the proposed 2026 Budget. Following the conclusion of the meeting, the 2026 Budget has been deemed adopted.
