Voter Information Letters
Voter information letters have started to arrive! If you have not received your letter in the mail by the end of day on Wednesday, October 14th, OR if you need to make corrections to your information, please come to the Township office at 4432 George Street during our opening hours with a piece of identification that shows your qualifying address. Election staff will be happy to help you. More information can be found at our website on the elections page.
The 2026 municipal election will take place on Monday, October 26 from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. Eligible electors can vote online or by telephone anytime during the voting period. The Township will host a Voter Help Centre equipped with touchscreen voting systems in the Council Chamber at 4432 George Street between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm throughout the advanced voting period (October 19-23) and between 8:30 am and 8:00 pm on Election Day (October 26). Election staff will be available to assist voters. More information: southfrontenac.net/election
Announced early morning on September 26, Canada Post workers, who are members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), have gone on a nationwide strike. We ask that you not put payments and other time-sensitive documents in the mail. Please read the various payment options or document delivery options during the strike.

Due to unforeseen site conditions, completion of the Fish Creek Bridge Project will be delayed.
September 18, 2025 – South Frontenac Township’s Town Hall in Sydenham will reopen to the public this fall. Each department will move into their new space on separate days.

South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Del Blakney, has made the decision to reduce the Fire Ban level from a Total Fire Ban to a Level One Fire Ban effective Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:30 am.

South Frontenac Township, with great support from MPP John Jordan, is set to receive $3.2 million dollars from the Housing-Enabling Water System Fund (HEWSF) to be used for the communal servicing for the Verona Housing Project, a mixed housing project that will build an estimated 100 units in the rural community of Verona, Ontario.
The Township of South Frontenac and Wagar & Corput Weed Control Inc., and the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority intend to control invasive Phragmites (Phragmites australis ssp. australis) within municipal road allowances belonging to the Township of South Frontenac. The applications will take place in the following areas.
