The Lakes and Trails Festival returns to Point Park in Sydenham on Saturday, July 13 from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm.
The festival is a celebration of the natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities offered by the lakes and trails in South Frontenac.
We’ve received updated test results from KFL&A Public Health for Sydenham Point Park Beach. The results indicate all areas of the beach are safe for swimming again as of 1 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024.
The Water and Wastewater Study for the Verona Housing Plan is complete and the final report and appendices are now posted on the project page on engagefrontenac.ca for public review for a 30-day period starting June 27, 2024.
We’ve been advised the left side of The Point Beach, 4410 Point Road in Sydenham is unsafe for swimming by KFL&A Public Health due to unacceptable levels of E.coli in the water. The right side of the beach near the water plant continues to be well below acceptable thresholds and remains open for swimming.
Work will start next week to reconstruct a 3.6 km section of Bedford Road between Salmon Lake Road and Desert Lake Road.

Friday, June 21, 2024 is National indigenous Peoples Day. Here are some events events and activities taking place in our region to recognize and celebrate Indigenous culture and community. All events are free.
South Frontenac Township is set to celebrate Canada Day on July 1st with lots of family friendly activities throughout the community during the day, and one spectacular firework finale. This year, the fireworks will be held at dusk at Gerald Ball Park in Sunbury.
Environment Canada has issued a warning for a multi-day heat event that begins Monday and is expected to last most of the week for the City of Kingston and Frontenac and Lennox and Addington counties. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 30ºC to 35ºC, with minimum temperatures falling between 18ºC to 23ºC, bringing little relief from the heat.
Our Township offices and garages will be closed Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from noon until 2 pm for a Staff Appreciation Lunch.
