2026 Road and Bridge Construction Projects

The 2026 construction season has begun in South Frontenac.

We’ve updated our Road Closures and Construction page with details on the main road construction projects planned this summer including maps of where the work will take place. You can also see real-time updates on Municipal 511 on this page.

Work is dependent on the weather. Be alert, expect delays, and obey all traffic control signage. Did you know? The Township maintains 806 kms of roads in South Frontenac

• 27 kms of hard-surfaced roads will be rehabilitated
• 9.5 kms of hard-surfaced roads will be reconstructed
• 5.5 kms of gravel roads will be improved

Please help make it a safe summer by reducing speeds in construction zones and obeying crews and traffic signs at all times. Thanks for your cooperation as we work to improve and maintain roads in South Frontenac.

2026 Road and Bridge Projects:

• Roadway Preservation  (Low Volume Chip Seal Roads) – 27 kms
• Bedford Mills Bride Rehabilitation (Perth Rd)
• Eagle Creek Bridge (Bob’s Lake Rd)
• Desert Lake Road(Road 38 to High Falls Rd) – 3 km
• Round Lake Road (Latimer Rd to Duff Rd) – 2 km
• Keeley Road (0.3 km east of Sydenham Rd to Park Valley Rd) – 2 km
• Canoe Lake Road (gravel) – (James Wilson Rd to 3km south of Westport Rd)  - 5.5 km
• Road 38 Phase 2 (Yarker Rd to Murton Rd) - 1.8 km
• Westport Road (Lee Rd to Wolfe Lake Rd) - 700 m

The Bedford Mills Bridge, Eagle Creek Bridge and Desert Lake Road projects are being funded in part by the Canada Community-Building Fund. Desert Lake Road is also partly funded by the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF).
