Alto Update - September 9, 2026

Mayor Ron Vandewal recently met with Alto representatives as well as County Warden Bill Saunders and County representatives.  From this meeting, the messaging remained that Alto’s focus is on studying the Kingston route.  This route would not go through South Frontenac.  Alto representatives stated that they expect to be able to provide more information by January 2027.

 The Township has also received inquiries in relation to the Township signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Alto.  The Township has not signed an NDA and has not been asked to do so.  In the event that the request should come forward, Township staff will undertake the necessary due diligence in looking into the request as well as inform Council about such a request and its implications.
