Notice of Office - 2026 Municipal Election

Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Township of South Frontenac Nominations in the Township of South Frontenac for the offices of:

• 1 Mayor (Elected at Large)

8 Councillors (2 for each of the 4 Electoral Districts as follows)

• Bedford District (2 Councillors)
• Portland District (2 Councillors)
• Loughborough District (2 Councillors)
• Storrington District (2 Councillors)
  
  
• 1 English Language Public School Board Trustees (Limestone District School Board) Township of South Frontenac (Elected At Large)
• 1 English Language Separate School Board Trustees (Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board) Townships of Central Frontenac, North Frontenac and South Frontenac (Elected at Large)

Note: The Township of South Frontenac has been designated as lead municipality for the English Language Separate School Board Trustees electoral group.

• 1 French Language Public School Board Trustee
  (le Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario) – Geographic Region 2
  All municipalities in the Counties of Hastings, Prince Edward, Lennox & Addington,
  and Frontenac (Elected at Large)

  and Frontenac (Elected at Large)

Nominations related to elections administered by the Township of South Frontenac may be made by submitting, at the Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, 4432 George Street, Sydenham, nominations on the prescribed form (Nomination Paper), and the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200 for Mayor and $100 for Councillor or School Board Trustee. The filing fee is payable by cash, certified cheque, money order, or debit.

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent between Friday, May 1, 2026, and Thursday, August 20, 2026, during regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) and on Friday, August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day) between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm The nomination of a person for an office on a council must be endorsed by at least 25 persons.
