Purpose and Effect of the Proposed By-law

A 3.6-hectare (8.8-acre) surplus farm residential lot, with 160 metres of frontage on Latimer Road, is proposed at the north-west corner of 4264 Latimer Road under Consent Application PL-BDJ-2026-0104. The severed (new) lot will be approximately 3.6 hectares (8.8 acres) in size with 160 metres (524 ft.) of frontage on Latimer Road and would contain the existing single detached dwelling, serviced by private on-site water and sewage systems, unoccupied livestock barn, and two additional accessory buildings. The retained parcel would be approximately 79.9 hectares (197.4 acres) in size with 146 metres (479 ft.) of frontage on Latimer Road to the north and 764 metres (2,506 ft.) of non-continuous frontage on Davidson Road to the south. The retained parcel would continue to be used for agricultural purposes.

The proposed By-law would change the zone on the retained parcel from Rural (RU) to a site-specific Agricultural (A-X) to restrict any single detached residential or residential accessory uses per Section 9.3.4 (b)(v) of the Township Official Plan.

How to Get Involved: The purpose of the public meeting is to share information and to hear and consider public comments on the proposal before Council makes decision on the application.  Council may pass a by-law during the Council meeting in which the statutory public meeting is held, if the planning matter is deemed to be technical in nature and no concerns were raised prior to or during the public meeting, per Procedural By-law as Amended by By-law 2023-44.
