Purpose and Effect of the Application:

The property has a house that is 3.2 metres from the highwater mark of Thirty Island Lake. There are decks on the north and south sides of the house. The owners are seeking permission to connect the two decks with a 12.6 metre by 1.5 metre uncovered deck on the waterside of the cottage. The deck is 1.6 metres from the lake, 0.5 metres from the top of bank and 0.6 metres from the floodplain. The permission is being requested retroactively because the deck was constructed without the necessary approvals.
