Postal Strike - September 26, 2025: What you Need to Know
Announced early morning on September 26, Canada Post workers, who are members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), have gone on a nationwide strike. We ask that you not put payments and other time-sensitive documents in the mail. Please read the various payment options or document delivery options listed below.
Pay/View Taxes and Sydenham Water Bills
Despite the interruptions with the mail service, you are still responsible for paying bills on time. The next tax bill is due September 30, 2025.
You can pay online, at your bank, or in person at the Sydenham Library meeting room at 4412 Wheatley St. 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. A drop box is located outside the library for residents making in-person payments outside of those hours.
Starting October 1, our Treasury/Reception department will be available at our newly renovated Town Hall at 4432 George St., Sydenham.

Entrance Permit Deposit Cheques
Public Services will inform you either by phone or email when your cheque is ready to be picked up. Cheques can be picked up at our temporary main office at 4412 Wheatley St. until October 1 when reception at Town Hall will be open to the public.

Building & Development
Applications, requests, fees, and time-sensitive documents can be delivered in person to the Development Services office at 3910 Battersea Road between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday There is a drop box at this location. Fees can be paid in person or online.
Starting October 3, the Building and Planning Department will be open in our newly renovated Town Hall at 4432 George St., Sydenham.
Due to the recent Canada Post strike, please be advised that all Public Meeting Notices can now be found in the Public Notices section of our website.
Other correspondence
If you need to give a letter or other non-bill correspondence to the Township of South Frontenac, please drop it off between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday at the appropriate municipal customer counter. Starting October 3, all departments will be available to the public in our newly renovated Town Hall.
