Remembrance Day: We Remember the Fallen and the Brave
A Message from the Mayor
On Remembrance Day, we, as a community, must take the time, at a memorial or in private, to honour the extraordinary contributions of the men and women who sacrificed their lives to protect Canada’s sovereignty, everyday freedoms and our values. We commend our veterans and current members of the Canadian Armed Forces for their bravery, commitment and deep sense of duty.
To provide Township employees with the opportunity to attend a Remembrance Day Ceremony, our municipal offices will be closed to the public on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, for two hours from
10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Details on services in the Township appear below.
In this time of remembrance, we come together in gratitude and thank each service member for the sacrifices they made and continue to make for us. We remember them and pledge that the freedom and values they fought for will live on for generations to come.
Lest we forget,
Mayor Ron Vandewal
