South Frontenac Celebrates Canada Day
July 1, 2026
There is always so much to do throughout the community on July 1. Explore the festivities, connect with neighbours, and make lasting memories. Whether you’re dancing to the rhythm of the band or perfecting your cookie decorating skills, our Canada Day celebration is an experience you won’t want to miss! Fireworks finale at 9:45 pm at The Sydenham Point.
Stories at the Point
Friday’s from July 3 – August 7, 10:30 am – 11 am. For children of all ages. Join us for outdoor Storytime fun at Sydenham Point and help keep summer reading skills strong! This program is presented in partnership with EarlyON. Sydenham Point is located at 4410 Point Road, Sydenham, ON. Visit www.keyon.ca to pre-register with EarlyON.
The Bedford Historical Society 2026 Open House
July 4, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Bedford Historical Society will host their 2026 Open House at Glendower Hall (1381 Westport Road).
Topics range from:
- a developing Indigenous documentary to a Memorial to Canada’s Veterans
- a Settler’s Trail to the Kick & Push Railway
- a Rideau Canal Lock to a Blockhouse which guarded it
- Mill ground flour to models of Village Homes
- Early School houses to the Museums and Municipal Advisory Committees who seek to preserve
- and present the history of people, places and events surrounding your home

South Frontenac-Hartington Community Sharing Centre 45th Anniversary/Grand Re-opening/Open House
July 11, 2025, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Come celebrate with us and meet some of our community partners. Make it a family outing -- enjoy a bbq hamburger or hotdog while supporting our Volunteer Fire Department. Check out the pumper truck, stop by the Library reading tent for a short story, shop for treasures at The Sharing Centre, and meet many others who help put heart into this community.
Live @ the Sydenham Library: Pete Moss

Families connect with local nature through interactive songs, stories, and movement, learning about Ontario wildlife, plants, and weather with musician-storyteller Pete Moss. Tickets for the all ages events will be available at the Sydenham Library branch half an hour before show time. Limit of 6 tickets per person. Caregivers of children under the age of 7 must remain in the program space; caregivers of children ages 7-9 must remain in the library during the program.

Join us for a peaceful afternoon in Frontenac Park and experience the magic of a guided forest bathing walk. Slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace the moment with mindful presence. Unplug, relax and allow the goodness of the forest to soothe your mind, nourish your body & rejuvenate your soul. Come immerse yourself in the Forest through simple invitations and find a deeper connection to our natural world and yourself. Certified Nature Therapy Guide & Trainer, Claire Beach will guide a 3 hour walk that ends with a light snack and tea.
Outdoor Concert: Vocal Legacy

B & B Memorial Show & Shine

The annual show and shine at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith is a tribute to the Joe & Trish Greens’ late son, Bailey, and his neighbourhood friend, Blake Young, who both died tragically in vehicle-related accidents just months apart. Raffles, vendors, food trucks and trophies. Free admission for spectators.
