There is always so much to do throughout the community on July 1. Explore the festivities, connect with neighbours, and make lasting memories. Whether you’re dancing to the rhythm of the band or perfecting your cookie decorating skills, our Canada Day celebration is an experience you won’t want to miss! Fireworks finale at 9:45 pm at The Sydenham Point. 

Friday’s from July 3 – August 7, 10:30 am – 11 am. For children of all ages. Join us for outdoor Storytime fun at Sydenham Point and help keep summer reading skills strong! This program is presented in partnership with EarlyON. Sydenham Point is located at 4410 Point Road, Sydenham, ON.  Visit www.keyon.ca to pre-register with EarlyON.

The Bedford Historical Society will host their 2026 Open House at Glendower Hall (1381 Westport Road).

Topics range from:

• a developing Indigenous documentary to a Memorial to Canada’s Veterans
• a Settler’s Trail to the Kick & Push Railway
• a Rideau Canal Lock to a Blockhouse which guarded it
• Mill ground flour to models of Village Homes
• Early School houses to the Museums and Municipal Advisory Committees who seek to preserve
• and present the history of people, places and events surrounding your home

Join Pawsitive Impact as they host Dog Days of Summer. Enjoy special booths. Event includes dog nail trimming, pet portraits, agility course, treats just for the dogs.

Come celebrate with us and meet some of our community partners.  Make it a family outing -- enjoy a bbq hamburger or hotdog while supporting our Volunteer Fire Department. Check out the pumper truck, stop by the Library reading tent for a short story, shop for treasures at The Sharing Centre, and meet many others who help put heart into this community.

Families connect with local nature through interactive songs, stories, and movement, learning about Ontario wildlife, plants, and weather with musician-storyteller Pete Moss. Tickets for the all ages events will be available at the Sydenham Library branch half an hour before show time. Limit of 6 tickets per person. Caregivers of children under the age of 7 must remain in the program space; caregivers of children ages 7-9 must remain in the library during the program.

S’more Stories, a free, family-friendly summer event designed to bring cottagers and local residents together for an evening of storytelling, kids’ activities, campfires, and of course, plenty of s’mores 🔥🍫

Stroll through the pathways in a beautiful woodland setting and enjoy the work of over 90 artists. Live music and food.

Join us for a peaceful afternoon in Frontenac Park and experience the magic of a guided forest bathing walk. Slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace the moment with mindful presence. Unplug, relax and allow the goodness of the forest to soothe your mind, nourish your body & rejuvenate your soul. Come immerse yourself in the Forest through simple invitations and find a deeper connection to our natural world and yourself. Certified Nature Therapy Guide & Trainer, Claire Beach will guide a 3 hour walk that ends with a light snack and tea.

Bring your lawn chairs, invite your friends, family, and neighbours, and let's enjoy this beautiful outdoors setting together! Rain location will be at the Verona Free Methodist Church Hall for an indoor coffee house.

July 27, 10:30 am - 11 am, Sydenham Library

Enjoy puppet performances: Green Eggs and Ham and Frog and Toad!  Drop in — no registration necessary.

Sydenham Point, McMullen Beach, Gilmour Point Beach, Davidson Beach, Gould Lake Conservation Area Beach – you can’t go wrong with any of these prime beach locations. Make up a picnic, grab some toys for the kids, relax and enjoy!

The grand finale of South Frontenac's Summer Community Event Series! ☀️🏖️ The Bubble Bash is a FREE, family-friendly bubble-themed beach day packed with games, treats, face painting, and plenty of bubbly fun for all ages! Bring your family, your friends, and get ready to celebrate the end of summer with an afternoon full of laughter, beachside fun, and bubbles everywhere. 

August 22, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Centennial Park (Harrowsmith)

The annual show and shine at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith is a tribute to the Joe & Trish Greens’ late son, Bailey, and his neighbourhood friend, Blake Young, who both died tragically in vehicle-related accidents just months apart. Raffles, vendors, food trucks and trophies. Free admission for spectators.
