Official Plan

The 2025 Official Plan describes how the Township will plan to accommodate future growth and development and meet the needs of the community. The Plan includes policies to build healthy communities, promote diverse housing options, promote economic development, and protect agricultural land and natural heritage systems.

The goal is to balance growth with environmental leadership and protection of our outstanding natural assets to enhance the lifestyle, rural character, and economic opportunities in South Frontenac.

How to find Official Plan designation of properties

Frontenac Maps can be used to find the Official Plan designation of any property:

1. Go to frontenacmaps.ca
2. Select the box in the middle of the webpage that says "Interactive Mapping"
3. Agree to the Terms of Use and click "Enter Interactive Mapping"
4. Search in the search bar in the top right hand corner of the webpage for the property address, PIN or roll number (excluding dashes) or scroll to the property manually
5. Below the search bar on the right side of the webpage there is a green box labelled "I want to...".  Click on this box
6. Select "Change visible map layers", all of the layers on the map will appear on the left toolbar
7. To view the designation of individual properties click the box beside "Official Plan" to check the box.  You can expand this selection to view specific Official Plan Map details.
