Official Plan Review

In August 2019, The township held a special public meeting under Section 26 of the Planning Act to determine if an Official Plan Review was required. The outcome of this meeting is that Council provided direction to prepared a new Official Plan for South Frontenac.

In the months of September & October of 2019, the Township hosted a series of Open Houses in order to collect feedback and input on their vision for a new Official Plan for South Frontenac. The Township also released a survey to obtain input from members of the public who were not able to attend the open houses in person.

The results from the Official Plan open houses and survey results were shared with South Frontenac Council in January 2020.

During 2020, Township staff worked with County staff and consultants to prepare background studies to help support the Official Plan resulting in population, housing and employment growth allocations.

If you have thoughts or input on how you would like the South Frontenac community to grow and develop over the next 25 years, please feel free to send your thoughts to us via email at officialplan@southfrontenac.net .

There will be more public engagement activities taking place throughout 2021 - visit EngageFrontenac.ca for more information and to provide input into the New Official Plan.
