The Township of South Frontenac intends to control weeds along guiderails, posts, and rural roadsides commencing May 1, 2025 (weather permitting) and concluding on September 30, 2025. The applications will take place along selected rural roadsides in an area encompassing the Townships boundaries. Read full details. 

Starting Monday, May 26, 2025, South Frontenac Township will adjust the hours of operations at each of our Township office locations.

Held in conjunction with Emergency Preparedness Week, South Frontenac is revving up for the return of its popular Touch the Truck event, set to take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at The Point Park in Sydenham.

Pitch-In Week is returning to South Frontenac April 18-25, 2025. Pitch-In is a community-wide clean up where residents and community groups get together to help clean up roadsides and greenspaces to keep South Frontenac beautiful. It’s easy to pitch in—you can pick up garbage by yourself, with your family or neighbours, or organize a group. Find out how you can get involved.

South Frontenac Township is pleased to announce the return of the Summer Kickoff Music Festival on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith. The event will run from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and is free to attend, thanks to the generous support of local sponsors, including our presenting partner Boulton Septic.

South Frontenac Fire and Rescue Station 6 (5582 Perth Rd.) will be open to the public from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm on April 1, 2025 for South Frontenac residents to charge their cell phones/tablets and to get warm.

The Township of South Frontenac is declaring a Significant Weather Event.

As of 2:30 pm on March 28, 2025, the Township of South Frontenac has declared a Significant Weather Event in accordance with Ontario Regulation 239/02. All roads and sidewalks maintained by the Municipality will be in a “state of repair” until the declaration has been lifted.

The Township of South Frontenac will host a public meeting on April 15, 2025, at 7:00 pm regarding the Bellrock and Petworth Mills Concept Plans.

Effective Monday, March 24, 2025, the Township of South Frontenac will implement new load restrictions on the Fish Creek Bridge

Due to forecasted weather and current road conditions, all roads within South Frontenac are subject to restricted loads effective March 10, 2025, to April 30, 2025.
