New Landscaping Features for Sydenham Point Beach
Sydenham Point Beach visitors will see and get to experience some central updates this summer season. Starting Monday, May 25, 2026, Recreation and Facilities will rejuvenate some of the key landscaping features of this popular South Frontenac beach location.
Updates in this beach project will include adding new sand to the two existing sand areas and building wooden borders around these areas, and to place large stones along the sloped area of the southeast beach.
“These exciting projects will help to conserve the natural features of our beach”, says Tim Laprade, Manager of Recreation and Facilities. “The borders around the sand areas will help to reduce beach sand from spreading across the property or into the water. The best sandcastles will be able to be built in these new spaces. The large stones will be placed along the sloped area of the southeast beach to help prevent the pea stone gravel from washing into the lake while also creating a new relaxing seating area for visitors.”
The affected project spaces will be fenced off during the construction phase and will not be accessible to the public. For individual safety, please do not move or enter the fenced areas. The full project, weather permitting, is estimated to take three days to complete. Once completed, pictures of the new space will be featured on our social media channels and website (southfrontenac.net).
