Family Day garbage collection

All collection of garbage will occur one day later than your normal day for the week of February 16th only

Mondays is picked up Tuesday                     Tuesdays is picked up Wednesday

Wednesdays is picked up Thursday   and    Thursdays is picked up Friday

Loughborough WDS will be CLOSED Family Day, February 16th

There is no change to the recycle collection.

IMPORTANT NOTE: 

As of July 1, 2025, all household recycling in the Township is now being managed by Circular Materials and picked up by their Contractor Emterra Environmental. The new recycling program includes changes to the recycling collection schedule and the materials collected. If you missed your new recycling day, unsure of the material mix, or for more information about Producer Responsibility, visit www.circularmaterials.ca/recycleontario . There you can receive a calendar and a list of materials and what stream they are to be put out in.

Please Note:

The Township will no longer sell or distribute Recycle Bins. All residents with new builds and/or new home purchases, along with lost or broken blue bins, must call Emterra at 1-888-597-1541 to have your name and address verified. Emterra will have a running list shared with Hartington Home Hardware which is now distributing all recycle bins. Please note that new construction builds must have a verified Occupancy Permit to begin receiving collection. It is our understanding that Home Hardware will also have recycle bins for purchase.

• Sign up for reminders below – we'll remind you by phone or email the day before your collection. You can also save your calendar electronically in your Outlook, iCal or Google calendar.
• Help those without a computer - Many people do not use a computer so you can help them get notifications by phone - just download the SFRecycles app on your phone or computer and enter enter their details, you can then choose to be notified by an automated phone call, you can even pick the time that they will get notified.

The province of Ontario has moved to an Individual Producer Responsibility diversion system. Follow the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) for all the latest news on waste diversion. The RPRA was created in November 2016 by the Government of Ontario to support the transition to a circular economy and a waste-free Ontario.
