South Frontenac Township will be using birds of prey and herding dogs at Sydenham Point Park this spring to keep geese away and keep the park and beach clean and safe so it can remain open this summer. The birds of prey are from Royal Canadian Falconry in Haliburton

Parks Canada has advised that the load rating for vehicles on two bridges – Brass Point Swing and Brass Point Fixed – are being reduced from 15 tonnes to 10 tonnes effective mid-May, 2024. These bridges are located on Burnt Hills Road and connect the Township of South Frontenac with the City of Kingston.

Purpose and Effect of the Application 
The proposal is to sever a new lot from the property. The severed parcel would be approximately 1.5 hectares in area with approximately 109 metres of frontage on Loughborough Portland Boundary Road. The retained parcel would be approximately 5.1 hectares in size with approximately 107m of frontage along Loughborough Portland Boundary Road.

Touch the Truck is returning to South Frontenac on Wednesday, May 8 from 4-7 pm at a new location, The Point Park in Sydenham.

Pitch-In Week is returning to South Frontenac April 15-25, 2024. Pitch-In is a community-wide clean up where residents and community groups get together to help clean up roadsides and greenspaces to keep South Frontenac beautiful.

The Council of The Corporation of the Township of South Frontenac proposes to pass a by-law to stop up, close and transfer ownership of all three portions of unopened road allowance.
