We have been advised by the South East Health Unit that the left side of The Point Beach, 4410 Point Road in Sydenham, is unsafe for swimming due to unacceptable levels of E.coli in the water. The right side of the beach near the water plant continues to be well below acceptable thresholds and remains open for swimming.

In follow up to the Township issued statement on June 28, 2025, the Township would like to provide some further information regarding the Line Spike Frontenac event hosted on June 28 and 29, 2025.

The Township of South Frontenac has issued the following statement concerning Line Spike Frontenac and the liquor licence for the event.  

Please be advised that Bob's Lake Road will be closed to all traffic between Walleye Lane and Morton Point Lane starting Wednesday, July 2, 2025, through Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Shortly after 10:00 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025, 28 South Frontenac Fire and Rescue firefighters from the Hartington, Verona, Sydenham, and Latimer stations responded to a report of a fully involved garage fire in the 5000 block of Bellrock Mill Street.

Starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the Township will no longer be responsible for providing recycling pick up services. Under the new recycling program, the changes to recycling collection will impact 'non-eligible sources' - industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) property owners.

In accordance with the Line Fences Act the Township of South Frontenac is seeking applications for the appointment of Municipal Fence-Viewers.
