Purpose and Effect of the Application
A minor variance is being requested to allow a 16’ x 18’ (288sqft) sleeping cabin to be setback 80 feet from the highwater mark of Thirty Island Lake, whereas a minimum of 98.4 feet is required. The sleeping cabin was partially constructed without the necessary approvals.
South Frontenac Township will open the doors to their newly renovated Town Hall for its Grand Opening on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm.

A zoning amendment application (PL-ZBA-2025-0101) to permit residential development within 300 metres of an existing quarry was also submitted for the severed lot.

Application Details:
Subject Property Address: 4413 Road 38 (Quinn Road West)
This zoning amendment application seeks to permit residential development within 300
metres of an existing quarry. The proposal is related to a consent application (PL-BDJ-2025-
0102) for a rural residential lot. The zone on the proposed lot would change from Rural (RU)
to Rural – Special Exception (RU-XX) to permit the construction of a dwelling and accessory
uses, notwithstanding the prohibitions of the Zoning By-law (Section 5.34.1).
Despite some setbacks on the construction of the site protection and de-watering system, the Fish Creek Bridge structure is taking shape.
The Township of South Frontenac is currently advancing the next phases of environmental studies required in support of the servicing proposals for the Verona Housing Master Plan.
Effective 9:00 am on October 31, 2025, South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Del Blakney, has lifted the Level One Fire Ban that has been in place since August 29.
