Please note: During the week of June 29 - July 3, garbage collection will be one-day later for residents who would normally have pick-up on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday pick-up will shift to Thursday, and Thursday’s pick-up will move to Friday. All municipal offices and the Portland Waste Disposal Site will also be closed on Wednesday, July 1. Recycling will still be collected by Emterra on Wednesday, July 1.

Parks Canada has advised that the load rating for vehicles on two bridges – Brass Point Swing and Brass Point Fixed – are being reduced from 15 tonnes to 10 tonnes effective mid-May, 2024. These bridges are located on Burnt Hills Road and connect the Township of South Frontenac with the City of Kingston.

Purpose and Effect of the Application
The proposal is to sever a new lot from the property. The severed parcel would be approximately 1.5 hectares in area with approximately 109 metres of frontage on Loughborough Portland Boundary Road. The retained parcel would be approximately 5.1 hectares in size with approximately 107m of frontage along Loughborough Portland Boundary Road.
Residents of South Frontenac Township can now access water at a new bulk water station in Sydenham.
The station is located at 4252 Stage Coach Road and is a medium scale fill station ideal for residents, businesses and farmers who want potable water filled in containers typically of 1,000 litres or less.
Touch the Truck is returning to South Frontenac on Wednesday, May 8 from 4-7 pm at a new location, The Point Park in Sydenham.
