Sydenham Point Beach visitors will see and get to experience some central updates this summer season. Starting Monday, May 25, 2026, Recreation and Facilities will rejuvenate some of the key landscaping features of this popular South Frontenac beach location.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada® awards South Frontenac Fire & Rescue (SFFR) with a $49,833 grant to purchase 90 sets of technical rescue/wildland firefighting boots.

Wagar & Corput Weed Control Inc. & the Township of South Frontenac intend to control weeds along guiderails and posts, and noxious weeds along rural roadsides within the Township of South Frontenac. The applications will take place along selected rural roadsides in an area encompassing the Townships boundaries.

Parks Canada will begin the full replacement of Brass Point Bridge in Seeley’s Bay in summer 2026, with reopening expected in early 2028. This project will replace both the historic swing and fixed bridges, upgrade roadway infrastructure, and ensure the long-term safety and functionality of this key crossing on the Rideau Canal National Historic Site.

Over the last two weeks, SFFR has been involved with 9 incidents due to empty propane tanks. When your tank is low/empty during the cold, it has low pressure and the furnace will not operate properly.
