  • Move from Total Fire Ban to a Level One Fire Ban

    South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Del Blakney, has made the decision to reduce the Fire Ban level from a Total Fire Ban to a Level One Fire Ban effective Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:30 am.

  • South Frontenac Receives Substantial Provincial Grant for their Verona Housing Project

    South Frontenac Township, with great support from MPP John Jordan, is set to receive $3.2 million dollars from the Housing-Enabling Water System Fund (HEWSF) to be used for the communal servicing for the Verona Housing Project, a mixed housing project that will build an estimated 100 units in the rural community of Verona, Ontario.

  • Phragmite Control Procedure

    The Township of South Frontenac and Wagar & Corput Weed Control Inc., and the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority intend to control invasive Phragmites (Phragmites australis ssp. australis) within municipal road allowances belonging to the Township of South Frontenac. The applications will take place in the following areas.

    South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Del Blakney, has declared a Total Fire Ban in effect starting Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 am.

  • Level 1 Fire Ban in Effect

    South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Del Blakney, has declared a Level One Fire Ban in effect starting Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

  • Centennial Park to Be Enhanced with Support from Provincial Grant

    Centennial Park, a premier outdoor recreation space in Harrowsmith, is set to receive new amenities and major upgrades, thanks to the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund from the Ontario Ministry of Sport.

  • Sydenham Point Beach Fully Open for Swimming Again

    We’ve received updated test results from South East Health Unit for Sydenham Point Park Beach. The results indicate all areas of the beach are safe for swimming again as of 4:30 pm on Monday, July 15, 2025.

    Left Side of Sydenham Point Park Beach Unsafe for Swimming

    We have been advised by the South East Health Unit that the left side of The Point Beach, 4410 Point Road in Sydenham, is unsafe for swimming due to unacceptable levels of E.coli in the water. The right side of the beach near the water plant continues to be well below acceptable thresholds and remains open for swimming.
