 On Monday, October 19, 2020, the province announced that all Ontario residents should take extra precautions to stay safe this Halloween. The Ministry of Health discouraged traditional door-to-door trick or treating in regions that are currently in modified stage 2 in Ontario, which includes the Ottawa, Peel, Toronto, and York regions. All other regions in the province were directed to follow the guidance set by their local public health agency.

Harrowsmith Community Improvement Plan Extended to October 31, 2024

On October 18, 2016 South Frontenac Council passed By-law No. 2016-64 to designate the Harrowsmith Settlement Area as a Community Improvement Project Area for the purposes of implementing a 'Community Improvement Plan' respecting its redevelopment, revitalization, prosperity and beautification. .

Emergency Road Closure: Long Swamp Road Bridge

Effective September 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm, the Township will be closing the Long Swamp Rd Bridge until further notice.

This closure is the result of safety concerns surrounding Long Swamp Rd Bridge. Township Staff is in the process of undertaking a structural assessment of the bridge to determine what, if any, remedial work is required.

KFL&A Public Health News: Increase in Drug-Involved Overdoses in KFL&A Area

KINGSTON – KFL&A Public Health is warning residents of a toxic batch of drugs circulating in the KFL&A area. Increases in overdoses have been noted in emergency departments, 9-1-1 calls for overdoses, and local harm reduction programs. Initial reports indicate that in some cases, the substance consumed was cocaine. Fentanyl toxicity is suspected.
