Half Loads

REDUCED LOAD PERIOD ON TOWNSHIP ROADS.

Subject to Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act, during the period from March 1 to April 30 inclusive, of each calendar year, no person shall operate vehicle on a designated  highway with a load that exceeds the limits set out in the Act. No commercial motor vehicle or trailer, other than a public vehicle shall be operated or drawn upon any designated highway where the weight upon an axle exceeds 5,000 kilograms.

Speed Limit and Parking

Traffic, parking and stopping on highways and bridges and speed limits under the jurisdiction of the Township of South Frontenac are all regulated through By-law 2000-01.

Special Move Permits

When transporting heavy and/or wide loads throughout the Township, special permission may be required pursuant to Section 110 of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8, and amendments thereto.

Moves may be made during DAYLIGHT HOURS, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and except between the hours of 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. or 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. when in congested areas.
