To encourage people to take action during Fire Prevention Week, we’re holding a contest from September 28 to October 14, 2023. Simply snap a photo of you or family members doing something to be prepared in case of fire or emergency and post it to social media using the hashtag #BePreparedSouthFrontenac and tag us. If you aren’t on social media, submit your photo using this web form to be entered to win over $500 in prizes, including safety items like smoke alarms and fire extinguisher, an hour of free ice time at Frontenac arena and South Frontenac clothing!
Here are some opportunities to learn more about fire prevention in the next few weeks and where you can snap photos with our fire crews of doing something to be prepared or educate yourself about fire safety:
- Crews will be at Verona and Sydenham Foodland today, September 28, Test Your Smoke Alarm Day from 2-6 pm
- Fire Station Open Houses: Tuesday, October 10, from 7-9 pm. See the trucks, meet crew members and learn about fire safety. A fun night for the whole family!
