Level One Fire Ban in Effect in South Frontenac April 12, 2023

Please be advised that effective Wednesday, April 12, 2023 a Level 1 Fire Ban is in effect in the Township of South Frontenac.

A Level One fire ban restricts open air burning for the purposes of burning grass, brush, or other combustible materials, but permits campfires and cooking fires as defined in the By-law 2012-68.

South Frontenac Fire and Rescue has responded to several fires in the past week due to dry burning conditions. Higher temperatures are forecasted this week and into the weekend making conditions high risk for brush and grass fires. 

South Frontenac Fire and Rescue personnel will continue to review conditions and notify the public of any status changes.
