National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces have advised that students and instructors from the Peace Support Training Centre in Kingston will be conducting a training exercise on Wednesday June 7 between 8 am and 4 pm in Sydenham, Brockville, Perth and Gananoque.

Approximately 40 students and instructors in military uniforms will go out into the area to take pictures, talk with local residents, and try to understand the dynamics of the town based on a fictional disaster relief scenario in which persons are displaced.

This training will have minimal impact on the community and has been coordinated with local government officials. No weapons will be carried or used.

The students and instructors will be conducting an area assessment to train in the conduct of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) which supports a military mission by establishing and maintaining coordination and cooperation between military forces and civil authorities.
