September 18-22, 2023 is Septic Awareness Week and we want to flush out the facts on septic systems and how to keep your system healthy.

Frontenac Arena Opening Night and Public Skating

Lace up your skates and join us for opening night at the Frontenac Community Arena on Friday, September 15, 2023. There will be free public skating from 6-8 pm and the Breakaway Canteen will be open for a fun night for the whole family.

Public skating for the 2023-2024 season resumes on Sunday, September 17 and will be held:

  • Sundays from noon to 1:30 pm; and
  • Wednesdays from 9-10:30 am (strollers welcome)

Cost is $3 per person. A CSA approved helmet with screen is recommended for adults and children.

Mosquitoes Carrying West Nile Virus Found in KFL&A

August 28, 2023 – Recent surveillance efforts conducted by KFL&A Public Health has found the presence of mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Virus (WNV) in the Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox and Addington region. Additionally, Public Health Ontario confirmed that a crow from the KFL&A region tested positive for WNV. Sydenham Point Park Beach Safe for Swimming as of August 28, 2023

KFL&A Public Health has notified the Township that Sydenham Point Park Beach at 4410 Point Rd is safe for swimming again as of Monday, August 28, 2023.

KFL&A Public Health monitors the water quality at all municipally owned or operated public beaches within the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington region. Monitoring is done weekly from early June until the end of August and may require consecutive testing within a threshold to ensure the safety of water access to the beach.

Sydenham Point Park Beach Still Closed for Swimming

Sydenham Point Park Beach is still closed for swimming due to unacceptable levels of E.coli in the water. The water is being tested regularly by KFL&A Public Health and signs are posted at the beach. Residents are advised to not swim or enter the water until KFL&A Public Health confirms the beach is safe for swimming again.
