For Immediate Release

With the arrival of construction season, the Township of South Frontenac will be finalizing repairs to Hinchinbrooke Road at the Spring Lake crossing during the month of July 2022. These repairs will take approximately three (3) weeks to complete and are required to address a slope failure that occurred in the summer of 2021.

Due to the fact that some of the repairs are done in-water, the Township is required to follow prescribed permit timelines for in-water work, which begin on July 15, 2022. The final stage of road work will include the application of a double surface treatment to the work zone and will be carried out over a period of 2-3 days in late August. Further particulars on dates will be provided as we get closer to scheduling the work.

It is anticipated that the roadway will be reduced to a single lane while the above activities are carried out, and then returned to two (2) lanes at the end of each workday. Additional temporary traffic control signage will be put in place to help communicate lane restrictions and safety parameters to those using the road.

Residents are reminded to drive slowly and obey traffic controls when travelling through designated work zones. Additional questions or concerns can be directed to the Public Services Department at 613-376-3027 ext.4431 or via email to pwsupport@southfrontenac.net.
