Level One Fire Ban Lifted in South Frontenac July 17 2023

The Level One Fire Ban in South Frontenac Township has been lifted effective Monday, July 17, 2023, at 8:00 am. The Ministry of Natural Resources has also lifted the Restricted Fire Zone that affected the north part of our Township.

Residents are reminded to always use caution when having campfires and cooking outdoors, and only burn when conditions are appropriate. See the Township’s burning By-law 2012-68 for more information.

Alton Road West will be closed on Monday, July 17 from 6 am to 5 pm for construction at Loughborough Portland Boundary Road. Local traffic only. Please be alert and obey all traffic control signage.

Sydenham Point Park Beach Safe for Swimming

KFL&A Public Health has notified the Township that Sydenham Point Park Beach at 4410 Point Rd is safe for swimming again as of 3 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

KFL&A Public Health monitors the water quality at all municipally owned or operated public beaches within the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington region. The Health Unit requires two tests within the regulatory limits within two consecutive days to declare the water safe for swimming.
