Parks Canada Temporary Road Closure: Brass Point Bridge

Please be advised that Parks Canada will be closing access to the Brass Point Bridge on the Rideau Canal on Monday April 11, 2022, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Lower Brewers Swing Bridge Construction Update

Rideau Canal National Historic Site

April 5, 2022 – Parks Canada would like to advise that the construction work to replace the Lower Brewers Swing Bridge which began in the second week of March continues with the concrete demolition work now complete and 80 percent of the old bridge now removed.

Work on the abutments and approach walls will begin in the month of April and will carry on until June 23.   On site activities will then stop until September...

On March 31, 2022, the Wolfe Lake Association(WLA) launched their Lead Fishing Tackle Buy Back Program. The main goal of this program is to reduce the accumulation of toxic lead fishing tackle in the environment where it continues to pile up in literal tons each year and is directly responsible for the poisoning deaths of loons, eagles, swans, geese, ducks and other aquatic birds and wildlife.
